Harbour Yoga Studio

Meet the Teachers

The people behind Harbour Yoga Studio — experienced, approachable, and genuinely passionate about helping you find your practice.

Our Teaching Team

At Harbour Yoga Studio we keep our classes small and personal, so you will always be taught by someone who knows your name and understands where you are in your journey.

Maya Collins — Founder & Lead Teacher

Maya founded Harbour Yoga Studio with a simple belief: that yoga should feel welcoming, not intimidating. Based in Brighton, she has spent years studying and refining her practice across multiple disciplines, and that breadth shows in the variety of classes on offer at the studio.

Maya leads the Vinyasa Flow and Beginners Yoga classes. Her Vinyasa sessions are dynamic and breath-led, building strength and flexibility in equal measure, while her Beginners classes are patient, detailed, and designed to give newcomers the confidence to explore yoga at their own pace.

Her teaching philosophy is straightforward: every body is different, every day is different, and the practice should serve you — not the other way around.

Pregnancy Yoga

Our Pregnancy Yoga classes are taught with specialist care, supporting mothers-to-be through every trimester.

Pregnant woman gentle yoga stretch

Harbour Yoga Studio's Pregnancy Yoga sessions are designed specifically for pregnant women, focusing on gentle movement, breathwork, and relaxation techniques that support the body as it changes. Classes are kept small so that each student receives individual attention and modifications where needed.

Whether you are brand new to yoga or have an existing practice you wish to adapt during pregnancy, these sessions offer a safe and nurturing space. Get in touch to find out which stage of pregnancy is most suitable for joining a class.

What to Expect From Our Classes

Every class at Harbour Yoga Studio reflects the same values — clear guidance, a non-judgemental atmosphere, and room to grow.

Vinyasa Flow

A flowing, breath-synchronised practice that builds heat, strength and mobility. Suitable for those with some yoga experience who want a more dynamic session.

Yin Yoga

Slow, floor-based postures held for longer periods to release deep connective tissue and calm the nervous system. Ideal for balance and recovery.

Beginners Yoga

A welcoming introduction to the foundations of yoga — posture, breath and alignment — taught at a relaxed pace with plenty of individual guidance.

Pregnancy Yoga

Gentle, specialist classes supporting physical and emotional wellbeing during pregnancy, with modifications available throughout.

Questions About Our Teachers

A few things students often ask before their first class.

Will I always be taught by the same teacher?

We aim to provide consistency so you can build a rapport with your teacher. Get in touch or check with us directly if you have questions about who leads a particular class.

Are the teachers trained to work with beginners?

Yes. Our Beginners Yoga classes are specifically designed for those new to yoga, and our teachers are experienced in offering clear, accessible instruction whatever your starting point.

Is Pregnancy Yoga safe if I have never done yoga before?

Absolutely. You do not need any prior yoga experience to join a Pregnancy Yoga class. Please let us know when you book so your teacher can offer the right guidance from the start.

How do I get in touch with a question for a specific teacher?

Use our Contact page and we will make sure your message reaches the right person.
